Roads and typical drive time
Drivers typically take I-595 east from the airport, then head north on US-1/Federal Highway before turning onto Las Olas Boulevard. An alternate route uses I-95 north to Broward Boulevard, then east to Las Olas. The trip is about six miles. Off-peak runs take 20 to 25 minutes. Weekend evenings along the boulevard itself can slow the final few blocks.
Traffic reality and when to add buffer
Las Olas is one of the busiest corridors in Fort Lauderdale. Dinner traffic builds from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m., especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The intersections at SE 3rd Avenue and Andrews Avenue back up first. If you have a reservation, add 15 to 20 minutes during those hours. Construction or valet congestion in front of hotels can also add time near the Riverside Hotel at 620 E Las Olas Boulevard.
Vehicle options and pricing
Sedan transfers from FLL to Las Olas start at $130. SUVs start at $160 and are a better fit for parties with golf bags or extra luggage. All rates are point-to-point starting prices. Hourly arrangements are available if you want the vehicle to wait while you dine or attend meetings.
Who books this route
This is a popular route for diners, hotel guests, and business travelers. The boulevard runs from Andrews Avenue downtown all the way to Fort Lauderdale Beach, a distance of about two and a half miles. That range means the drop-off block matters for timing. The Riverside Hotel, which opened in 1936, remains one of the most recognizable landmarks on the strip.
